Please welcome Chief Nelson as the new Hillsboro Fire Chief. 

Prior to appointment as Fire Chief, Chief Nelson served the City of Hillsboro as Operations Chief and Interim Fire Chief.  "I'm humbled that the mayor and council have asked me to continue serving the Hillsboro community as its next fire chief," Nelson said in a statement. "Our fire department is among the best in the nation. The men and women who work here are dedicated professionals. Becoming their chief is both an honor and a privilege."  Chief Nelson has worked for the fire department for over 30 years and has held ever positional rank.  Chief Nelson was appointed as the Fire Chief on April 5th.
